What is SDrive Storage Box?
SDrive is ShoHost’s Storage Box service — large remote disk space for backups and files, accessed through FTP, SFTP, WebDAV, Samba, S3, and a web File Manager inside the Client Portal.
Which protocols are supported?
All plans include FTP/FTPS, SFTP/SSH, WebDAV, Samba (SMB), S3 API, and rclone/rsync-friendly access. The portal also provides connect helpers for FileZilla, WinSCP, and OS bundles. See the protocol explanations above for which tool fits each use case.
What is the difference between FTP, SFTP, and WebDAV?
FTP/FTPS is ideal for FileZilla and classic website backups (FTPS encrypts the session). SFTP runs over SSH and is better for secure server-to-server transfers with WinSCP or scripts. WebDAV mounts storage as a remote folder over HTTPS — great for desktop and mobile apps.
Can I use Samba SMB or S3 with SDrive?
Yes. Samba/SMB maps SDrive as a Windows or Linux network drive. The S3 API works with rclone and S3-compatible automation for object-style uploads. Both are included on every plan.
Can I mount SDrive as a network drive?
Yes. Use Samba/SMB on Windows or Linux, or WebDAV for desktop and mobile clients. You can also manage files directly in the browser File Manager.
Do you include snapshots, versioning, and ransomware recovery?
Yes. Plans include snapshot slots (10–30 depending on size) with file versioning, plus Backup & Recovery tools in the portal. If ransomware encrypts or deletes files, you can roll back to a clean earlier version instead of starting from scratch.
Is traffic really unlimited?
Yes — SDrive plans are sold with unlimited traffic so backup jobs and file sync are not blocked by surprise egress fees. Fair-use concurrent upload limits may still apply per plan.
Where do I order and manage my box?
Orders will be fulfilled through storage.shohost.com (packages coming soon). Day-to-day management happens in the StorageBox Client Portal at sdrive.shodns.in.
Can I upgrade from 1 TB to a larger plan later?
Yes. Start with SD11 and upgrade to SD21 or SD31 as your archive grows. Protocol settings and portal workflow stay the same.
